Egypt: Majid Al Futtaim shopping mall to open early 2017

The leading mall in Egypt, Majid Al Futtaim shopping mall is currently working on its final phases in readiness for its opening in March 2017.

The mall is going to be the largest and pioneer in terms of retail and leisure across North Africa and will cost a whopping US$ 675m.
 
The opening of the mega mall will see the commencement of Africa’s first ski slope-Ski Egypt and the first VOX Cinemas Cineplex in the country, while at the same time providing an entry point for some of the world’s leading international brands to the country for the first time.
 
The two-level new mall which is located in 6th of October City on Al Wahat Road, will feature over 350 lifestyle, entertainment and convenience-oriented outlets and 50 food and beverage outlets, a 21 multi-screen VOX Cinemas and a Magic Planet family entertainment centre offering a exclusive range of experiences and it boasts a gross leasable area (GLA) of 165,000 square metres and will provide all its customers with 6,500 parking spaces.
 
The new development which is still underway is the first shopping destination of its kind in the country and is owned by Majid Al Futtaim that presently owns and operates 20 shopping malls across the Middle East and North Africa each of them strategic and unique. They also own 12 hotels and three mixed-use communities, with further developments underway in the region.
 
The Majid Al Futtaim shopping mall portfolio is renowned for its innovation within the shopping centre, retail, design and construction industries. It includes Mall of the Emirates, City Centre malls and also four community malls in conjunction with the Government of Sharjah.
 
The Company holds exclusive rights to the Carrefour franchise in approximately 38 markets across Middle East, Africa and Central Asia and operates a portfolio of more than 160 outlets in 15 countries.
